Can I apply?
You can apply for a Seniors Card if you:
- are 60 years of age or over
- live in Tasmania, and
- work no more than 20 hours of paid work per week (averaged over a 12-month period).

What you need to apply
Online
If you apply online you must have:
- an email address you can use to create your online account
- proof of identity documents.
Post or email
If you apply by post or email you must:
- return the completed application form (PDF, 199KB)
- include copies of proof of identity documents
Service Centre
If you apply in person at a service centre you must:
- complete an application form (PDF, 199KB)
- show original proof of identity documents.
Proving your identity
You must provide evidence of your name, date of birth and current address. You must provide original documents if applying in a service centre. You can provide your:
- Tasmanian driver licence, or
- Tasmanian personal information card.
If you don't have a driver licence or personal information card, you can provide one document with your name and date of birth and one document with proof of your current address:
- Australian Birth certificate (or extract)
- Australian Citizenship papers
- Passport
- Change of Name or Marriage Certificate (from Births, Deaths and Marriages) to prove any name change
- Tasmanian firearms licence
- Australian Government issued pension card
- Recent bank statement or utility account with current residential address.
Update my details or replace my card
You can replace your Seniors Card or update your details at any time. It is important to keep your information up-to-date. This means you won’t miss any correspondence you may have opted to receive.

Online
To replace your card or update your address, phone number or email address you must:
- sign in to your online account.
If you applied for your Seniors Card online, your account was set up for you automatically.
If you applied for your Seniors Card at a service centre or by post, you need to activate your account. You can activate your account online.
Service Centre
To replace your card, or update your address, phone number, email address you must provide your:
- current Seniors Card, or
- proof of identity documents.
To change your name you must provide:
- your current Seniors Card, and
- a legal document (e.g. birth certificate or marriage certificate) which shows your new name.
Phone
To replace your card, or update your address or phone number you must provide your:
- full name
- new address (if applicable) or confirm current address, and
- phone number.
