Prepare a trailer or caravan for registration

Key info

• Before registering you must have your trailer or caravan inspected at an approved inspection station. The inspection is only valid for 30 days.
• If the Tasmanian registration expired less than 3 months ago you can renew the registration without an inspection.
• The trailer or caravan must have an identity number. Detailed information is available in the fact sheet.
• Once it has passed the inspection, you must visit a Service Centre to register the vehicle where you will need to provide the inspection report and other documents.
