Why should I renew my RWVP early?
There will be thousands of people renewing their RWVP in 2026. These high volumes may mean it takes longer than the usual 6 weeks for your renewal to be processed. Leaving your renewal to the last-minute means you run the risk of your RWVP expiring.
So take advantage and renew your RWVP early — you will receive your renewal reminder email or SMS up to 3 months before it expires (it will take effect from the date your current RWVP expires).
How do I do the identity verification online at myServiceTas?
- Log in (or create an account) at myServiceTas.
- Select the RWVP identity verification service.
- Follow the prompts to upload your identity documents.
How do I book an appointment to verify my identity at the Launceston or Hobart Service Centre?
- Visit the Service Tasmania - Book an appointment page.
- Enter your details and select either the Hobart or Launceston service centre.
- Select 'Renew my RWVP' and choose your preferred appointment date and time.
- Once you've completed the booking, an email and SMS will be sent with your booking confirmation code.
- Take the confirmation code with you to your appointment.
- Check-in at the kiosk when you arrive.
