OPEN for Residents of Dolphin Sands and Surrounds Only

Overview

The Tasmanian Government is providing financial assistance to low-income households in the Dolphin Sands area whose principal place of residence was damaged or destroyed in the December 2025 bushfire emergency.

Support may include:

  • Temporary Living Expenses
  • Replacement of Household Items
  • Repair and Restoration of the home

Each grant provides up to $11,650 per household.
Applicants may receive one, two, or all three grants, depending on eligibility.

Eligible Locations

This program is available only to households whose principal place of residence is located in:

  • Dolphin Sands and surrounding areas

Your home must have been in this location at the time of the emergency.

Who can apply

You may be eligible if you meet all of the following:

  • You can provide proof of identity.
  • Your main home is in the eligible location.
  • You meet income and asset limits.
  • You have no or inadequate insurance.
  • Your home is damaged or destroyed and uninhabitable.

How to apply

Applications are submitted through the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s grants management system, SmartyGrants.

  • If you have applied for emergency grants before, log in using your existing SmartyGrants account.
  • New users will need to create a SmartyGrants account before applying.
