Buy or lease a perpetual taxi licence

• These licences are no longer being issued but you can buy or lease a licence from an existing licence holder.
• To buy or transfer a licence, you must submit an application form (PDF, 554KB) to notify the change in ownership. You must apply at a service centre and pay the $17.80 fee.
• To lease a licence, the owner and new operator must complete the application form (PDF, 557KB). The licence owner must notify the Transport Commission within 14 days of the lease starting. You must apply at a service centre and pay the $17.80 fee.
• Both parties to a lease must notify the Transport Commission when a lease is terminated. Complete the notification of termination of lease form (PDF, 98KB) and submit it at a service centre. Notifying the termination of a lease is free.
