    About applying for an electrical contractor licence

    When you apply for a licence you must nominate a responsible person in the business as your nominated manager. Your nominated manager must hold an electrical practitioner licence.

    What you need to apply

    You must:

    • provide a digital copy of your certificate of currency for insurance
    • provide a digital copy of your company or business name registration (if using a name other than your own personal name)
    • provide details of your nominated manager, including their statement of attainment/results for course UEENEEG175 (Develop compliance policies and plans to conduct an electrical contracting business)
    • provide answers to a set of declaration questions (with any supporting documents)
    • provide payment
    • have a photo taken at a service centre. If you are an interstate or overseas applicant you must provide a passport-size photo certified by a Commissioner for Declarations or a Justice of the Peace (JP).
