Apply for or renew a permit to possess protected species

Key info

• To apply for or renew you must submit a Possession of Wildlife application form (PDF, 202KB) by email to Wildlife.Services@nre.tas.gov.au or post to Wildlife Services, GPO Box 44, Hobart 7001.
• If you require a permit to possess, buy or sell bird wildlife you must use the Possession and Trade of Wildlife (aviculture) application form (PDF, 326KB).
• Your application must include how the wildlife came into your possession, how long you intend to have it, and how you intend to house it.
• You can get an application form from any service centre. There is no fee for applying or renewing.
