Apply for a permit to buy, sell or possess bird wildlife

Key info

• You must have a permit to buy, sell or possess bird wildlife in Tasmania. There is no fee to apply.
• You can submit a possession and trade of wildlife (aviculture) application (PDF, 333KB) by email to wildlife.services@nre.tas.gov.au or post to Wildlife Services, GPO Box 44, Hobart 7001. 
• Your application must include how the wildlife came into your possession, your skills and experience and how you intend to house it.
• If you want to keep the bird wildlife past your current permit expiry date, you must apply to continue to possess and trade wildlife  before your current permit expires.
