• There is a permanent firearms amnesty in Tasmania.
• The amnesty means that unregistered or unwanted firearms can be handed in to police or some firearms dealers without any action being taken in relation to possession offences.
• You can surrender or hand the firearm or ammunition in at a police station or some firearms dealers. Always arrange a time to take the firearm in. Do not simply turn up with the firearm.
