  • Interpreter services are available for Service Tasmania customers for free. Our customer service offices can call the Translating and Interpreter Service (TIS) to help you with transactions in person at a service centre. Delays may occur depending on translator availability.
  • If you would like to complete a transaction over the phone you can call TIS on 131 450. Please tell the TIS interpreter your language, name and that you are calling Service Tasmania 1300 13 55 13.
  • Interpreters can be booked for driver knowledge tests in Burnie, Devonport, Glenorchy, Hobart, Launceston and Rosny service centres. Interpreters can also be booked for driving assessments in Burnie, Devonport, Hobart and Launceston service centres.
  • An interpreter for a driver knowledge test or driving assessment can be booked in person at a service centre, or by calling TIS on 131 450. Please tell the TIS interpreter your language, name and that you are calling Service Tasmania 1300 13 55 13. Please book interpreters in advance.
