Overview
The Gambling Harm Minimisation Grants Program 2026 (the Grants Program) is funded through the Community Support Fund which supports gambling harm minimisation purposes, such as:
- Support services and programs
- Early intervention and preventative initiatives
- Research
- Community development projects.
Funding Available
In 2026, the Grants Program is:
- Providing funding of up to $125,000 (GST exclusive)
- For eligible organisations to deliver projects to minimise the impacts of gambling harm through prevention, early intervention and/or gambling harm reduction initiatives.
Organisations may only submit one application to the Grants Program.
Other Community Support Fund Grant Opportunity - About the Community Participation Grants Program 2026
Organisations may also submit one application to the Community Participation Grants Program 2026, which is also funded through the Community Support Fund.
The total funding pool available under the Gambling Harm Minimisation Grant Program 2026 and the Community Participation Grants Program 2026 is $1 million.
Eligibility
The Grants Program is open to:
- A local government authority (council)
- Incorporated not-for-profit organisations
- Not-for-profit companies registered under company law
- Aboriginal organisations
- Unincorporated organisations (must be auspiced by an incorporated organisation).
Applicants must have:
- A Tasmanian presence as a community-based organisation and the ability to deliver activities in Tasmania.
- No perceived or actual conflicts of interest that would impact the delivery of the project.
- Public liability insurance (a copy of the organisation’s current public liability insurance cover must be included with the application).
- Hold a currently active Australian Business Number (ABN) or, if eligible, provide a Statement by Supplier Form from the Australian Tax Office (ATO).
For your project to be eligible, it must:
- Be undertaken in Tasmania.
- Increase community participation for vulnerable groups and/or communities.
Projects can prevent or reduce gambling harm through:
- Prevention by reducing gambling risk factors and increasing protective factors
- Early intervention by helping identify and reduce low to moderate gambling harm
- Gambling harm reduction by complementing and enhancing self-help and professional support for Tasmanians.
