Commonwealth Government Australian Newspapers (1803-1954): Tasmanian titles
The National Library of Australia's Australian Newspapers service (part of the Australian Newspapers Digitisation Program) provides online access to selected digitised historic Australian newspapers, scanned from microfilm. Tasmanian papers included in the service are selected issues of the Hobart Town Gazette and Southern Reporter, the Hobart Town Gazette and Van Diemen's Land Advertiser, and the Mercury
Commonwealth Government Australian Newspapers Digitisation Program
The National Library of Australia, in collaboration with the Australian State and Territory libraries, is working on a program to digitise out-of-copyright newspapers. A free online service provides full-text searching of newspaper articles. A list of newspapers included, and their coverage, is provided
